We love Brides and your property. It suits us very well. In case anyone else ever needs persuasion, the plus points:
Was absolutely perfect for 4 family party with teenagers. Plenty of room & best equipped kitchen we''ve had in the alps in 20 years which made communal cooking a social highlight of the visit instead of a chore! And found cafe with good food & reasonable prices just round the corner for night off.
With 15 persons we have had a very fine week. Live/kitchen and house is fitted with all kinds of conveniences. Very fine that there is a bathroom in each bedroom. We had no problems when several people take a shower at the same time. A good address for a super skiing area!!
Propre, spacieuse, beau cadre.
Great place to stay with a warm and welcoming owner.
From initial contact to final check-out, everything about our stay at Graham’s lovely, spacious and homely chalet was a pleasure. We were a group of 8 – six adults (three not skiing) and two kids. We were sent lots of useful information on reservation by Graham. The agency was very flexible on check-in and when we arrived. The location in Brides les Bains was great for our group. Easy access to local food shops and day trips for the non-skiers; a quick walk and cable up to the slopes for the rest of us. The Three Valleys is the best skiing we have ever had and the 15 minute ride up to Meribel means easy to access all three (we managed them all on one mammoth last day!). The chalet itself is expansive, very comfortable and roomy and fully equipped with everything we needed, including internet. Every room has its own character and we loved the sound of the roaring river running alongside the chalet – we found ourselves out in the kitchen patio garden area quite a lot. I can’t imagine a better place to stay for 2-3 families with so many sleeping combos a possibility. My parents – in their 60s – had never had a ‘cold’ holiday before. They don’t ski and they were simply hypnotised by the mountains, the chalet, the views and watching their kids and grandkids ski. They also loved the food – there are great restaurants near the chalet - and really enjoyed a day trip to Annecy and a day at the local spa baths. We really liked the contrast on a daily basis in the weather also. If the village was cloudy, the slopes always seemed to be sunny, and vice versa. So every day we had a variety of weather and on the day when the weather up top was too windy or wet, we just jumped the lift and grabbed some food in the sun below the clouds at Brides. We also didn’t need a car once we’d got there which in most other resorts has been a must-have due to the need to go and buy bread etc every day. From the chalet it was less than 100 metres to a very useful mini-mart which had great bread and croissants every morning. I’d urge other visitors to check out train connections before booking a car as we suspect that might be quite easy and probably cheaper. Check-out was very flexible on time and quickly completed. We all had a fantastic time and we hope to return very soon.
